Na českém IRC kanálu #doom.cz běžícím na IRCnetu napsal dnes DanHen, že na Zdaemon IRC (ZIRC) probírají něco ohledně prohlížečů. Toto téma mě zaujalo a snažil jsem se k této proprietární síti připojit přes IRC klient v Zlauncheru.
Bohužel, dostal jsem pouze hlášku:

Takže ta síť není jen omezená na několik (uživatelsky nedostatečných) klientů, ale navíc NĚKDO rozhoduje, že některé z verzí těchto klientů jsou zakázany. Toto je naprosto šílený přístup. Klasická IRC síť (pro ČR ideální IRCnet) je otevřená všem klientům, včetně webových bran. V roce 1999 jsem pro připojení na #doom.cz používal klient mIRC 4.xx, dnes se s ním klasicky připojím (proč by taky ne, že).
Neexistuje jediný technický důvod, proč bych se na uzavřené ZIRC nemohl připojit s dva roky starým zlauncherem, pod kterým mimochodem herní servery bez problémů běží, je to pouze zvůle jakéhosi idiota blokovat ho.
Před cca rokem jsem se rozhodoval, jestli podpořit kanál #doom.cz na IRCnetu, nebo kanál #cz na ZIRC. Nyní opět chápu, jak dobře jsem se tehdy rozhodl. Podporovat uzavřené sítě závislé na čísi zvůli je svinstvo, které se dříve, či později obrátí i proti těm, kteří by je podporovali.
